Foundation Year in Spain: When It Helps and Where Private Universities Offer One

A foundation year is a preparatory year before a bachelor's, run by some private universities and business schools for students whose grades, English or Spanish are not yet enough. It is not an official degree and does not replace recognition of Class 12.

Where to ask

IE University, the University of Navarra, Universidad Europea and EAE run preparatory or pathway programmes from time to time; their content, length and price change by year, so ask each admissions office. We did not find a public-university foundation year in English.

Common questions: Foundation year in Spain

Does a foundation year support a student visa?

A full-time in-person course at a recognised institution can; the visa category depends on the course. Ask the university for a letter describing the course before you apply.
