University of Zaragoza: Aragon Charges Non-EU Students Double or Triple, and It Is Still Moderate

Unizar, founded in 1542, is the only public university in Aragon, halfway between Madrid and Barcelona by high-speed train. Aragon has the steepest non-EU multiplier we found: twice the regional price for most master's and three times for bachelor's.

Is Spanish required?

For Biophysics, no. For the partly Spanish master's, you need enough Spanish to follow some subjects. Zaragoza is a Spanish-speaking city with a smaller international community than Madrid or Barcelona.

Admission route

Apply to each master's on Unizar's academic portal during pre-enrolment, usually in spring and summer. Bachelor's require homologación, UNEDasiss and Spanish.

Common questions: University of Zaragoza

How much is a master's at Zaragoza for non-EU students?

€60.80 per credit for a non-habilitating master's in 2025/26, against €30.40 for EU students, about €3,650 for 60 credits. Habilitating and some differentiated master's cost €51.36. The 2026/27 decree was not yet found.

Is Zaragoza expensive for bachelor's?

Non-EU non-residents pay three times the regional price, or twice under some cooperation agreements. That is still well below private universities, but the bachelor's are in Spanish.

Which master's are in English?

Biophysics and Quantitative Biotechnology is fully in English. Robotics, Quantum Technologies, AI and Advanced Materials are partly in Spanish, and two Erasmus Mundus master's are run by consortia.
